I've tried yoga once or twice before but it's SO hard! Are there any intro-type yoga workouts that will not totally leave me sore and broken feeling? I really like the stretching aspect of yoga, and getting more flexible and limber...

I really want to learn how to do yoga but I don't want to look stupid doing it... I really need to do something to get this weight off me so I can be healthy and stress free... ny suggestions

Does yoga really work? To me hard running excersizes only seem to help me get my body toned.

Yes! It helped me develop my flexibility to the point where I could high kick an object hanging over my head. That still really hurt though...

They do not have a yoga program where I am at, does anyone know of a good yoga DVD for beginners?

I find they have a few good beginner ones on here. I use a few of the routines but also have other yoga apps too. I don't like DVD s much at all I find it hard to focus on my body and the tv at the same time. Just search yoga and some good workouts should come up, just do what you can in any of them and take a break on what you cannot do. Every time you try you get stronger thats how I reached my yoga goals :)

For beginners I do not suggest using the xbox 360 kinect Yourshape Fitness 2012.
It is too complex for beginners, especially if you are overweight. It about killed me. 8/

This is my first time doing yoga. I have a free app Simply Yoga on my iPad and you can do 20, 40, or 1 hour of yoga for a complete workout. Once I recorded Total Body Workout: Yoga: Basic Flow on my VCR and I saw the whole thing on tv last year. I tried to do yoga for beginners, but I got easily distracted. Last week, I did Simply Yoga for 40 minutes and I followed the instructional moves. It was very good for my body and my mentality. I plan to do a lot of yoga in the coming months ahead, because yoga helps loosen the body and helps the mind to relax after a exciting workout.

I have a free yoga app called Simply Yoga which has instructions instead of a trainer for iPad.

I did yoga when I was pregnant ( 8 yrs ago) and thought it was a total waste of time. To be honest I actually didn't get it at all.
About 2 yrs ago I worked with a girl who swore by Bikram Yoga and begged me to go with her. When I u tubed it and realised it was Yoga I was like pass, no thanks!
Then I found Simply Yoga on the i phone I finally got it. I would definitely recommend it for begginers. It has a voice over which talks you through the moves. You can pause, start poses from any where in the session. There's a video to watch and correct your poses.

I had been walking and running and the weight was going down but not very much so I decided to try something completely outside my comfort zone with yoga. It has helped my body & mind. I am less stressed so I have less desire to stress eat and in 2 weeks I am down 10lbs!

I enjoy yoga, but it not everyone. I have gotten hurt trying to push myself to do something my body is not ready for. Yoga is different than your typical workout.I got hurt doing a peacock, lost balance and fell forward... And yes, my face took the landing :)
