Mindfulness. Many of us find ourselves with busy schedules and little time to prepare meals. But the key to successful exercise is not only dependent on what you do but also how you fuel. So make mindful choices when you are hungry. Plenty of fruits and vegetables, lean meats, beans and don't forget the water. Steer clear of added sugars, fats and artificial ingredients. You're body will thank you with better performance when you hit the gym.

If you're in an area where the thermometer has taken a nose dive, you may be finding it difficult to get your water intake. Trying drinking hot water instead of cold! Heat it up, throw in a slice of citrus and sip away.

I hope everyone enjoyed their extra hour of sleep this morning. Rest is an integral part of a training program It can be rest between sets, rest after a challenging event or season, periodization training or rest to heal an injury. When you are resting, your body heals and repairs muscle fibers to make you stronger and more fit. So, take a break today and enjoy some rest!

Weight management is about your health. Being fit means playing with your children, setting an example for your children and living a long life to watch them grow. I hope you'll consider signing up. I recently read that 2017 is to be the year of kindness. Let's add mindfulness to that as well as I believe them to go hand in hand. Here are some tips to help you be more mindful and kind in the New Year ~ 1. Listen fully when someone is speaking to you. Look them in the eye and think about their words before responding. 2. Smile! Acknowledge others with a smile. It may brighten their day as well as ease the stress in yours. 3. Practice a kind gesture daily. Examples include holding a door for someone, letting...

B.M.S. Balance, Moderation, and Savor, that's my motto for life. Let's face it, we're all human but we're not cavemen anymore. Our challenges do not come from hunting prey and survival of the fittest. So I run, I lift, I ride. It occupies my mind, strengthens my body and is time well spent with my friends, family and clients. Find your B.M.S. and become more human, too.
