To get by day to day about 7.
To wake utterly refreshed (happened twice in my life) about 14
Wow Alan you were in hibernation :D
I was young lol.
Your body needs 7 hours of sleepto keep you packing on additional weight and repair correctly. You may feel good at 6 but aim for 7 to 7.5 hours everyday and try to keep the same schedule even on the weekends for best results.
Kendra, you are way off, no offense. It's not so much how you feel exactly but the recouperation of your body. If you're not working out, do what you want but if you are, then get your sleep so you can get the results you want without wasting your time and workouts.
Whoa, calm down lol, my statement is for the average person. If you have a special condition, thats fine but it's not good to give that info to someone who is looking for an across the board fact. If it helps with my answer, I am a former Army Ranger, I fought MMA for 3 years, I am a nutritional coach as well as a strength and conditioning trainer. Congrats on all that you do, I juat try to give the best advice to those that do not know how to gage their body yet.
No sleep. Lol. Just kidding. I work mostly night shift as a RN, so my sleep cycle is a little skewed! On my days off, I tend to get about 7 - 8 hours and if I'm really having a hard time adjusting to sleeping at night, I take medication. Rest is important!
well whats avrege anyway
i mean, im n the same situation as kendra here..i workout daily, or skate & dance..but im not much of a sleeper..4-6 hours is satisfing...& sometimes i stay up 2 days in a row which unleash some hidden power..
I normaly have only time for about 5 to 6 hours & sometimes I have a week out sometimes two where I sleep about 4hours
me & sleeping dont get along much
i mostly sleep 1-2 or less during the week & get a full 8 hours charge at the weekend
My sleep is all over the place.....between working nightshift and watching my nephew through the day thats 2years old id b lucky to get 6 hours sleep in.......
The reccomended 8?
8 hours and I m good
I sleep about 10 hours. I know it is a lot but If I dont sleep that amount I don't function well the rest of the day.
Interesting seeing what you all feel is adequate for you. New study released today shows lack of enough sleep can lead to heart disease and diabetes. Your brain needs time to cycle through the sleep stages to be effective. I only saw the news blurb havent read the study.
Me I feel good enough to think and function after 6 but try for 7.5 to 8 when possible
