Learn to enjoy working out, otherwise you won't hold through very long.

Small meals throughout the day to keep your metabolism going. No caffeine, very minimal sodium. No sugars.

As Danielle said several small meals throughout the day, eliminate carbs, sugar and processed foods as much as possible.

Also try lowering your calorie intake by eating smaller portion sizes and eating less. Don't starve yourself of course.

Also for exercise try walks and runs.

Buy a treadmill if you dont have one already and jog while watching a sitcom or movie every day or atleast 2-3 times a week. Also most importantly install the "MYFITNESSPALL" app and actually stick to it logging your food, exercise, and watch your calories. You will see results fast.

Excersize at least 30minutes or 1 hour a day, and the whole food thing is a good idea, eat small portions, but eat them slowly, let your body digest it! If you eat fast you're tricking your body into thinking you barely ate, making you hungry for more and more food shortly after :)

Losing weight is a science and not about doing little things that will get you lucky in weight loss.

In order to lose 1 pound of fat you need to be 3500 calories below what you need to function on a daily basis.

You can do this with your diet and exercise.   (this is why exercises here show calories burned)

In order to do a good job of losing weight you should first set a goal and get a good tool to track your food intake.

You don't need to eliminate anything from your diet.  In fact you want to have a fairly balanced diet depending on your goal.  Most people suggest that you have 40% carbs, 30% fat and 30% protein in your diet.

Set a goal of 1% of your body weight lost per week and this will help you safely and effectively lose weight.

Keep the idea of diet for weight loss and exercise for fitness and that will help.
