Me and my fiancé are starting a workout plan Feb. 1. We are going to get a gym membership and start eating better. Cutting out anything we believe we don't need and is bad for us. Anyone have any advice or suggestions for us both?
He's trying to lose a few pounds, gain muscle and tone.
I'm trying to mostly tone.

Keep each other motivated! It's going to be days where both of you will say "let's rest today" . Don't let those days then into weeks... stay on top of your goals
