If you're struggling with feelings about losing your dad, you may need to deal with those feelings or it can be real tough focusing on anything, especially working out. I lost my second son to a heart defect and gained weight as well. I managed to lose weight but only because I threw myself into work and working out, and tried to forget about it; but those feelings came back and I gained all the weight back again. Throwing yourself into a workout routine is always good, but you should make sure you are really dealing with your feelings as well. Sorry for your loss.
