I also love food! I think the trick is to eat the right food. I have just started a high protein, low GI diet. I've not had bread or potatoes for about 10 days now and I feel good. Look at the "BBC what's the right diet for you" website. It has some good advice and info.
I too am a foodie, I have found weight watchers beneficial in my quest to lose fat and become healthy. It has helped me get portion control figured out :-)
