I'm really afraid to do workouts using dumbells while standing as I'm 175 cm tall and I don't want to get shorter. Can this really make me shorter? Thanks in advance
No. Just don't start with heavy weights, there would be the danger you hurt yourself. Choose a weight which you can lift 8-10 times and increase a little a while.
You can actually get a little bit taller since working out will correct a lot of poor posture.
