which is what? I never seem to hit the one I want? is there a prefered method here? I usually want the onethat makes my reply a new post, but it always ends up a reply with the post. why are there 2 options?

I usually prefer replies because they are easier to read as a new separate idea, are editable, and bump the topic to the top of the active topics board. Comments are good sometimes, but I rarely use them.

So, this is a reply..... but when I look at the "recent activity" I think it says there is a new "comment"  .. but thanks for helping explain it. And replies vs comments look different on website vs the app.

I only use mobile. But I use the comment when I don't want updates on the topic and to try and keep the active topics clean. If the topic is very interesting on the other hand and I do want updates on it I will use reply.
