Don't put yourself to fast. Start slow then work yourself up. It takes time.

If it's that bad, tone it down and ease yourself into it. Sucks being sore to that point, and you can end up hurting yourself or getting discouraged instead of encouraged exercising.  Small steps at a time, and have fun with it! Supposed to be a good, fun hurt, not to keep you from sitting...

Stretch it out! Start stretching before and after working out. Always helps me :)

I remember when I used to be sore. The first time I worked out was for my abs. I did like 200 curl ups & the next day I was sore. So what I did was start by stretching & doing a bit by bit. Like do 10 curl ups one day & the next 20 next 30 & so on

Stretch before and after workouts. That helps a lot. I didn't for a while and paid dearly for it. Also, you can take rest days or make them stretch or yoga days. There are some great stretching and yoga exercises that you can do here as well

I don't know if you drink protein shakes. If you do, you can drink one after workouts. That way, it helps your muscles recover faster

Make sure you have 1-3 days of rest between workouts and don't try anything you can't take! Also make sure you eat a lot of fruit and veg, stretch regularly and you will be alright! It's hard at the start, but if you don't give up you will be rewarded.

Bananas...the potassium helps the sodium potassium pumps in your muscles causing less lactic acid fermentation.

Soaking is your friend. Ease up for a day or two to give your body to recover. Incorporate some yoga into your routine. Massages to the sore muscles will help ease pain, as well.

Achy muscles. How brave are you. With your clothes on make a cold bath and sit in it. Have someone put 3 dozen ice-cubes in tub with you in it. Sit for 10 minutes, keep your screaming to a minimum. Empty tub and take a hot shower. Lactate acid will be gone. G.L.
