How young is too young?

I'm 10 and I love to exercise! I'm just worried that I'm too young and if I workout too much I can damage parts of my and get too skinny.

Not at all! Keep exercising it's very beneficial, but avoid the harder stuff and be careful not to hurt yourself.

There IS a limit! Stay away from weight training until you turn 14 for your development. For thesame reason, I would suggest not running more than 3K a day. You are at one of the highest points in your lifetime growth cycle, so because you are so primed for growth, even little things will bring major results. Don't get carried away, there is lots of time for super-intense in years to come. Health and safety first! Good luck!

I agree. Don't lift weights til you are 18. Lifting weights too early can stunt your growth. Men usually stop growing at 18. Otherwise all those other exercises are great!

I am 10 to and I am addicted to working out I am way underweight and really small but I have a six pack so tone down just a little that's what I am doing

You shouldn't be working out if you are under 13 and not outta shape, you don't wanna strain you developing muscles and bones.

Just wondering I'm 11 to skinny but I love to work out not to hard just a little challenge I'm way to skinny and have no muscle... Anyone got something I can to to build muscle ? I mean I am  only like 29 kilos but really tall and 11 help!!

There is no too young! If you are really skinny maybe you should do more toning exercises?? Or just drop a small amount of what you are doing now. Ignore what people are saying like "you are to young to workout!" that's like saying don't do anything when you are a kid and get fat. I mean seriously people.? If you need help or anything just talk to me.!!(:

They're not saying that, they're saying that too much can harm an 11 year old's body. Learn how to read, smart one.

Yes, Haley. No one is saying these things to offend young people. It is being said because it is a scientific fact. I took nutrition in college by a professor who worked with sports medicine for NASA, who also told us young people can and have stunted growth with these kind of exercises. It is not to make anyone feel left out,, it is to protect you.

Ashley thats not what they are saying. No exercising because you are too young IS stupid. Kids run around and play sports, THAT is exercising. But weight lifting or pushing yourself too hard when you are young is really bad for a growing body. 

Doing exersises like running, yoga,  using your own bodys weight (instead of weights) or sports are great workouts for kids.

There's nothing wrong with exercising at a young age! Just don't do it too often and don't overwork yourself. That can cause injury or illness. And keep eating full, healthy meals to refuel your body so you don't get too skinny!
