Have you seen a doc about it. ..you dont really want to be doing much until you know why its sore?
If its muscle pain...then stretching!
I have chronic lower back pain due to muscle or something wasnt dangerous so lost interest in technicalities.
Stretching is best and best one for me is to put your bum crack on the corner edge of a wall and starting from your bum working upwards press your spine upto your head on the edge so your back is straight all the way up...hold for a few secs/mins...if its bad do it daily..its now rare mine is sore! Hope it helps you!
If you suffer from spinal shift the best thing you can do is walk. I've suffered chronic neck and back pain for the last 20 years and this is what helps me the most. Ice every hour for 20 minutes and walk or at least stay mobile. Sitting idle for extended periods allows the spine to shift back out. If it is muscle pain, then stretching would be beneficial.
