What are your sleeping patterns like?
Have you ever found yourself with very irregular work shifts or classes that have you up through the night a couple nights a week. (graveyardshifts) if so do you find it sometimes difficult to manage a fitness routine? Any coping suggestions with awkward timing. Drinks, thoughts, foods? How do you know when you to use energy.
Yes, I have dodgey class and work hours. I have a number of approaches:
I get off early at bus stops so I can walk.
Take longer routes between classes and walk faster.
Take stairs instead of lifts!
Fit in whatever I can when I wake up - even short HIIT workouts can boost your metabolism.
And I workout before bed - I know that people recommend not to do that but I find I crash so easily afterwards. Especially since it's usually pretty late by the time I turn in.
