I think it's normal to feel guilty if you're new to working out. Like Isaac said, having rest days is essential. You need to let your muscles relax. I believe that's why you see only 3-4 workouts a week in the workout programs.

I say this as a newbie, only been working out for 5 days now and today was my 'guilty' rest day.

Honestly, I do get this way when I've had a bad day but for me I really try to deter myself from that mindset. I can be upset with myself if I've had a bad week, but not a bad day. As mentioned, especially when you lift heavy, you need a rest day. I always try to remind myself that it's a lifestyle and that one say isn't the make or break. An unhealthy day, with excessive eating and not working out isn't going to make that big of a difference if you've already made the commitment to a healthy life.

But hey everybody does it differently. Whatever keeps you motivated! Just try not to be TOO hard on yourself.

You keep rocking it!

Not really. Always a other day to get at it again.
