So love handles....
They aren't a big problem but I'd like to take care of it anyway. Any exercises I can do to get rid of them and further prevent them from growing or coming back?

I guess there isn't anything specific.
I'll focus on lower workouts then :)

try doing Russian twist,barbell landmines,air bikes,cable wood chop high to low, side v situps,side planks. this should do u justice good luck

Love handles are a pain in the neck to get rid off! Cardio, lower abs and a change in diet shall do the trick. Good luck! P.s if your body fat % is high, ab training would only make your belly wider
