I am just starting in the gym and am curious. Where do I start and is one rest day a week enough rest?
If you are just stating out 3 days a week will be sufficient, especially since you will naturally be sore from the new exercises. But if you feel up to more days in the week you can do that as well provided you don't train the same muscle groups back to back.
I always liked to break it up this way
Monday: lower body
Tuesday: upper body
Wednesday: cardio and core
Thursday: lower body
Friday: upper body
Saturday: cardio and core
