Any suggestions for a natural sleep aid?
chamomile tea! a cup of chamomile tea will help you sleep. According to researchers, drinking the tea is associated with an increase of glycine, a chemical that relaxes nerves and muscles and acts like a mild sedative.
ZMA. It's a combination of zinc and magnesium that helps with the stage 3 sleep, the deepest state of the sleep cycle
The melatonin/ zinc & magnesium / chamomile suggestions are good.
Other suggestions for more natural sleep:
logging off internet & turning off tv/ electronics/ bright florescent lights 1 hour before bed. Meditating for five minutes. Reading a book. Making sure all lights are off/covered (like little red led power lights, your alarm clock display, black-out shades on your windows, etc) install a dim night light for if you wake up in the middle of the night to use the bathroom, to avoid messing up your natural body clock.
Pay attention to how closely to bedtime you consume caffeine or other stimulants/products. There are some supplement products which cause me to get really restless at night.
