Are carbohydrates bad for your body? I have heard that carbohydrates becomes a fat layer over muscles. Is that true?

On both questions no and no. They are used as the primairy source of energy by your body. What makes you gain fat is an calory surplus over an extended period of time. If you cansume too many of the 'healthiest' calories there are, you will still gain extra fat on the body.
