I think our problem is we want to lose weight more than we want to work out. Maybe we should use working out as the thing we use to work toward something else, like inches instead of weight, or to lose a smaller goal weight like say 5 in a month or 2 a week or whatever. I have the same problem. I own a treadmill. A an glider. A inverter. A bike. A set of dumbbells.... yet I lack the motivation to use it. Idk. Maybe there's other issues we need to resolve before we dedicate our minds and energy to working out. Or maybe we need a work out buddy. Someone already into it that'll push you or someone as new to the game as you and that'll make you comfortable. Choice is yours.
