Any MMA or BJJ practitioners out there?
Do you train for self-defence only or compete also?

I'm out off training at the moment due to a rib fracture (and writing exams) but would love to know some more MMA/BJJ people on Skimble for me to follow.

I do MMA. I mostly do it for my self-defence and because I love it! I have friendly matches with my friends sometimes.

I've been doing bjj for just under 4 years. Love it. I work out of town so I only compete and train while im in town and have time now. I also used to teach once a week as well.

I've just returned to MMA/BJJ/Wrestling - the rib's better finally!  A few new guys have joined - absolute beasts(!) - I'm only 69kg so it's hard work sparring guys 20-25kg heavier than me. Thankfully I held my own against them - even caught one in a triangle and a sleeve choke (though he managed to survive - amazingly!).  I'm very light and also the most experienced white belt in my club so I can always see new guys sizing me up - they then go absolute all-out when sparring me which opens up a few possibilities for me to exploit their mistakes - but boy they really do tire me out!  I have to say going back after 6-weeks out I felt a bit intimidated!!! Haha :-D
