Just started using this app a couple days ago. Trying to cut down belly fat and tone muscle. I really want to get into a healthier lifestyle to be a good role model for my kids. Any advice would be helpful. Thanks in advance.
The main thing is to take it slowly. Americans want change immediately. This immediate change is only temporary and you will go back to your old style. Gradually change your eating habits and exercise routine. Keep records of your eating and activities. Set incremental goals. Make sure you can maintain what you are doing over a life time. If you don't think you can you are moving too fast and it will not become a habit. Once you start feeling guilty because you haven't ate right or did not complete your exercises you know you are on the way of modifying your life style.
Eat vegetable and fruit
Eat cold water fish
Eat whole grains
Stay away from processed and fried foods
Drink plenty of water
Do both aerobic and strengh training. Over time try to get up to 1 hour a day 6 days a week.
Try to pick exercises you enjoy and can stick with it. ie. bike riding, tennis, etc.
Keep calories in less than calories out to reduce body fat i.e. diet and exercise.
Never lose more than 2 lbs per week
