Hi friends....suffering with slip disc. ..can anybody..Help me ...how to overcome...and continue running and jogging..orthopaedician say no to both..

I'm trying to get better after being hurt in turbulence at work. I need to strengthen my core, but everything hurts.... I'm going to physical therapy and want to do more at home, hoping this will help. Good luck to you as well! Do you need surgery? If not, I would suggest finding a great physical therapist. I have found one where I live, he does manual manipulation and does 1 on 1 therapy. It's important to ask questions before you pick one. The insurance company for my employer sent me to 2 horrible PT places, but I found this...

Started to strengthen my core.. went to 1 spine Clinic here...they seems better..improvement is there...
Got injured 4 years ago...
Need no surgery yet..

Hello Vir S.  I'm so sorry to hear that you are suffering from a slipped disc.  Firstly, I'd like to urge you to take your doctor's advice over everything, first and foremost, because the doctor knows best.  If he or she is advising you not to run, jog or do any kind of jumping or impact movements, it's best to follow that advice for the period they say.  Once your doctor 'clears' you for exercise, then I would suggest basic core training to start, nothing high impact, and those that train your core musculature.  You want to start from the basics of 'Stability and Mobility' training, to strengthen the core and hip muscles, before moving on to movement pattern training.  I offer many programs for core training.  I hope this helps.  Good luck and I hope you get better soon!
