Bananas and Avocado are great sources of potassium, which helps relieve cramping and sore muscles.
Post workout stretches and whey shake within the hour helps greatly. Hit my legs twice a week now and barely get sore anymore after the next day. Compression clothing can also help and massages if you're into that. Good 8-10 hours sleep works too.
I use legwarmers especially after running to keep my calves warm, they get extremely tense and stiff otherwise. Keeping warm after exercise is my best advice!
Taking magnesium tablets helped me.
