Core troubles

I'm feeling my core workouts more in my upper legs and shoulder/arm area than I am in my core. Am I doing something wrong? Any tips or guidelines would be really helpful. I want to get the most out of each workout I do.

Focus on the core. Simplify the movements so you can concentrate on the core.

Most beginners use their lower body to much. This is okay. Use heavier weights  ( not toouch) and your core should get involved. Pay attention to holding the correct position throughout the entire exercise. This is where you work the core the most. What exercises are you speaking of?

The planks mostly, but any work out that I'm doing on here that is core based. My legs feel it more than anything else. But I'd have to agree that I might be using my legs too much. I was just worried that I was going to use my neck too much. I'll try and tighten my core more and focus on form and see if that helps. Thank you so much for the advice.
