Why oh why do I crave sweets after a work out?? All I can think about is cake, muffins, chocolates etc

Can someone tell me why this happens and how I can beat the cravings?!

And it happens because your sugar levels drop from the working out. Eat a handful of gummy bears and it'll reduce the craving or brush your teeth

Something like pixy stick, which is pure dextrose won't be a bad idea. Because as stated by my brother from another mother. Your body loses glucose aka dextrose after a workout.

Google "protein ball recipes". They're quick to make, and contain stuff like peanut butter, chocolate chips, protein powder, oats or coconut flakes & honey. 
They will satisfy your sweet tooth in a healthier way with a nice split of macros

Try having a banana, and some nuts. There are many delicious, yet sugar free or low sugar, protein shakes out there.  They can feel like a treat, especially when mixed with milk rather than water, or blend a banana & some blueberries in.

Sugar is crazy addictive, feeding itself. It's really hard to break the cycle because our modern diets keep throwing us right back into it. When i really wanna break out of a bad sugar cycle i use fruits (which contain sugar but a bit healthier form) to kind of wean myself off
