Hi! My name is zoie and I'm vegetarian! I've been vegetarian for about six months, and I must say it was very challenging. but I want to go vegan (or plant based, which ever you prefer). going vegetarian was a HUGE transition, I had meat everyday, almost three times a day. my family was not supportive. they would cook meat right infront of me. however, my boyfriend family was an amazing support system. I started to LOVE fish. now, I buy my own meals. and cook everything my self. is anyone here vegan or vegetarian? if so, how long have you been vegan / vegetarian? how many people in your family are vegan?

I'm not a vegan but I don't eat meat that often as you used to. My husband doesn't like meat so we eat only once a week..every Sunday.

Hi, cool it worked out for you.

I'm not looking to go vegan orso.
However I'm slowly but steadily trying to eat more plant orientated. This by adding between 300 and 500 gram of vegetables at dinner. And at times at breakfast or lunch. But it's hard and takes effort. Still trying to find ways to make it easier for myself Haha.

my favorite thing to do is watch food porn, sounds cheesy but i swear its the best !! i do understand going vegiterian / vegan can be very costly. its so easy picking up chicken nuggets. but how i trained my self not to eat meat: look up videos "why to go vegan". it shows you the life of a slaughter house. just look at all of the sweet, preshous , harmless animals that get slaughterd & raped every day.

I just wanted to add going vegan was so much creeper for me. Obviously is you are buying a shit ton of super foods it's going to be expensive. But rice, veggies, fruit, potatoes, past, bread is so so much cheaper then meet that's so much per pound. I save 50-100 a month on groceries now that I am vegan.

Haha I'm not so much into food pics and so. Extra veggie just gives so much benefits. Gives me the possibility to eat a lot of volume. Better for insuline sensitivity. Probably better for my gut health. Energy and so on.

I won't ever go vegan. I love my animals proteins waay to much Haha.

Hey. I've been vegan now for just over a year. And I love it. Just like you my family didn't support me in my decision to go vegan (I was not Vegitarian first). I still live with my parents so I as well had to make my own meals. I felt like the only one that was vegan. One thing that helped me loads is social media. I found an amazing support system over the Internet. Little things like hashtaging vegan got me fellow vegans following me. I follow bonnie Rebecca and Ellen fisher.  Once you find these people you find more and their content online reminds you why you are vegan. They also share good food. Everything that "normal people" eat CAN be made vegan. I've had vegan ice cream, doughnuts, you name it. It can be done. Use the apple app "happy cow" to find local vegan options when eating out. Watch documentaries on Netflix (cowspiracy, forks over knives, earthlings). Once you educate yourself and get a support system. It will seem normal. Why do you have to feel different for being vegan. You don't. It's just food. :) stay strong. It's the best thing that I have ever ever done for myself and I can confedently say that I will be vegan for life.
