I kinda obviously the gist of what protein and protein shakes are for, but what do they really do? Like WheyProtein. Some people say it just gives you the fat you burn off, others say it gives you calories back, and some say that it helps your body build muscles, and get stronger. Your opinion on which (if not, what) method is correct? Explain what it truly does and its possible benefits vs not using.

It doesn't do anything special. Its just a protein source.

Protein muscle synthesis is the building proces of Muscle. You need to consume enough protein to support this mechanism. And whey protein is a way to consume some protein in a easy way.
