I have taken to running for a while to change things up a bit before returning to gym, but after running my calves go very tight swollen and very very painful? ?????

Have u tried putting ur toes on the wall and keeping ur heel on the floor then leaning forward?

I will try that but even sitting today my calf started to swell and pain

Try warming up first by doing some ballistic stretching. A foam roller will also help to loosen up any of those tight spots.

I have the same problem as a beginner runner. I was in tears from the pain and when I tried asics shoes I no longer have the pain I did. I was wearing brooks before. I tried the revenna 7 from Brooks and I gave them away after 1 run! I should have learned my lesson, but I finally did. Seems dumb that shoes make that much of a difference, but they really do!

That's very true. Shoes matter A LOT. Still. It's interesting how her calves swell up. Try different shoes and definitely use a foam roller on your day off to loosen up any tight muscles. Your soleus or gastrocs might be tight.

Rest until they are back to normal. Did you run fast or long? Start slow and increase time step by step

I only did 2klm ran slowly I just don't think running is for me maybe I just just add hiit for my cardio I just wanted to change things up a bit

hiit is great too! Just don't think you're not made for running. Our body is still made for running. No reason to quit if you like it
