Hey all!

I'm new to the Skimble community and looking for help with motivation and accountability. I have a heart condition and have to do cardio and leg exercise for at least 20 minutes per day to control it. I love to run but getting motivated to get off the couch to do it is super hard for me. Also, when I do have the motivation to make running/other exercise a habit, I start with great intentions, then quit after a day or so. Please help! Thank you!

Welcome! For motivation, I just found a fantastic quote from one of our members, "Putting my health, myself, and my body first is the beginning of my journey." For accountability, you have a few options on this platform. You can join a team that you fancy. Click on "Community" on the top bar menu and scroll down to "Teams." I lead a couple of yoga team if you yoga interests you. Skimble Verified Trainers offer personal coaching here. Click on their profiles and message them for details. A tip: did you consider ditching the couch? It seems like it holds...

That's great that you want to improve yourself! Wow. Quit after one day? Well, for the first month you may have to force yourself to work out. But then it will truly become a habit and you'll feel weird when you don't do it. So just keep at it. If you want, I can send you a daily reminder to work out!

It might sound crazy, but if you have access to a treadmill for running, I find it very easy to knock out my miles when I watch movies on my phone. Or I won't let myself watch any TV unless I'm doing it on the treadmill. Weird motivators, but it gets the job done.
