When to eat and what is best?

Hey amazing community sorry if the title is a bit hard to understand I didn't really know what to type there cause its 2 different questions I'm hoping you guys can help me with
First question:
I workout twice per day once in the morning at 6am before high school and again in the evenings about 3-2hrs before I head to bed so my energy blast won't give me sleeping problems. So I have always wondered when should I eat? Before or After my workouts? I have always ate after my workouts but I don't really know if its better or worse. Is there any preferable time when to eat? Before or after a workout?
-my goal is weight loss and the workouts i do are mma style/Mixed material arts and the other is bootcamp style.-
Second question is:
What is better? Doing a modification of a move for example a modification of a push up or try doing the push up itself although I don't go down much I go as down as I can. is there anything thats better? Modification or try going as low as I can?
