I recommend gain muscle not fat. so if you are trying hard just stick to a diet of protein and vegetables and fruit. averagly I eat eggs for breakfast, a salad or sandwich with 3 fruits and 2 vegetables, and dinner varies. dinner is the meal that most people go all out on so remember to portionize it:) also don't forget to workout too, make sure, if you are trying to gain muscle, to have energy bars before you workout and pre and after  workout drink powder you can blend into any drink to help build muscle- you can find it at a rite aid! hope I helped tell me your results:)

Any anaerobic workout will build muscle, i.e., push-ups, sit-ups, lifting weights. President's Victory Workout is a decent program to try. You should also mix in cardio workouts to help burn calories and any fat you may gain, as well as to help tone and define the new muscle.
