I am new to this app. I. Doing great with the diet so far. Caounting calories with the help of my fitness pal. Im kind of lost with excercise. I will.walk when nice out. I ha e 130 lbs to lose. Can I do stomach excersises to help.lose belly fat? If so which ones? Or is just doing aerobic type tapes the best to start with? I want to lose fat obviously and gain some muscle and strength and endurance. Any suggestions are welcome please!Harvard Health Gym Coach

The best thing to do if wanting to lose weight is cardio workouts, running, dancing etc. and also intense workouts that make you sweat a lot

There is an application you can put on your phone (free) called c25k.  It will help you get started with training for your first 5k.  Along with this, start lifting weights.  The weightlifting will help condition your joints so you dont injure yourself.  I had to repeat week two twice and week four three times.  Take it slow and dont over train.  My friend started this program and was over 300 pounds.  She has lost almost 50 pounds and is working on week 7.

I should probably lose some weight before i start running I dont think I could run more then a block right now

You are selling yourself short on this. C25k stands for couch to 5k. If you csn jog for a minute, you can stsrt the program. Try it!

Oh...you can not choose where your body loses fat from.  All you csn do is work hard to lose fat and it will slowly disappear.

Arnt there things I can do to firm up my stomach though as I lose the weight? I know I cant make certain spots lose weight but theres things to help firm as I lose right? Should I lose the weight before firming or can I do stomach excercises as I lose the weigt?

No...start strength training now. That way when the fat melts, you will have muscle to show off.
