Exercise advice?

So ive been out of it for a while and im really wanting to get back in it, but i need to know what works best. Im ashamed to look at myself in the mirror, all i need to work on is my lower stomach area. The hardest thing to do. *rolls eyes* who knows what exercises would be knee and hip friendly that will help me achieve my goal??
