Getting started again after 2 years

Hi e1,
I've been procrastinating for so long and need to get started again.
2 years ago i was 15 kg lighter and want to return to the old me.
I'm looking for tips on how much to do at the beginning? I will be addicted again but don't want to fall into the trap of starting out with a 10k running goal 1st day back.

Hey Daren. I just started up about 3 weeks ago. Been working out 6 days a week, building back my stamina. Fit but getting more toned. Check out my profile and thread on Healthy Eating Habits in the Cooking section and also take a look at my workout history for suggestions on where to start. The first week wasn't too bad but the  form suffered until certain muscles caught up to others. Hope that helps.

ok managed a 45 min run, in fact more like 20 min run 25 min walk, in thunderstorms as the heavens opened up and i got soaked, awesome fun :-) average heart rate 161 max 183.

Keep at it Daren. The trick is to not push yourself so hard at forth that your too sore to continue the next day. Working out everyday will increase your energy level, help you sleep better at night with less sleep (in case your the sleep-in type) and will tone you up really well in a shorter period of time. Stay motivated!

No run today :( legs were just too sore. Not sure if the 50 + squats challenge is also good to strat at the same time.

try the rundouble app..it slowly helps to ease u back into running so basically first off u do 5 min warm up walk, run 1 minute walk 2 min x8 reps then 5 min warm down walk. it gets harder and harder till u build up :) i really like it and the app is free :).
