Should muscles be sore

I've heard different things on this. Whenever I start working out again my muscles are sore for a while. But now I've been working out for a while consistently and my muscles are a little sore here and there but mostly they are just blahhhh and tired. But my workouts make me sweat and get my heart rate at max for an hour so Idk. Thoughts?
