I am going to quit smoking. Set my quit date for today at exactly midnight. Been having a hard time sleeping cuz I started a new med, and usually end up smoking when this happens cuz I'm bored. I've been smoking for the past five years. Hardly ever a full pack, unless there was extra stress, but pretty close. 17 a day usually.
I'm going to need lots of encouragement because my willpower sucks! Lol. But I'm ready!

I almost have the urge to cave in first thing this morning but I'm holding strong so far let's keep it going!
Lunch time at work has made it incredibly difficult but still holding in there!! You can do it too keep it up!!

I actually got pretty stressed earlier and REALLY wanted to smoke. But, I didn't. :)
It has been exactly one day, 8 hours and 39 minutes since my last cigarette. Not much, but I'm counting it as a small victory. :)
I've had a few pretty strong cravings today. Even felt like I didn't want to quit anymore, but I ignored it. I keep looking at the app I'm using, you set your quirks date and it tells you how long it's been since you've smoke, money saved...etc. It also tells you all the health benefits you're getting. When I look at that I get excited and want to keep strong. :)
It also helps that I've got your guys' support as well.
Im finding it difficult to overcome cravings during certain times like after meals. Any suggestions? What's the name of the app that you got I'd like to try it.
After 10 years of smoking last couple 3 packs a day I quit put the money in a box with a picture of a motorcycle I wanted to buy any time I got a thought of smoking I would read the road test took a year but had a big down payment for a Suzuki 1000 have not wanted a smoke now for 40 years now good luck
To fight cravings after meals you can buy some small choclate candies, like Godiva or something really rich. Keep them in the fridge or freezer and only have one after you eat. I also brushed my teeth a lot the first few weeks. Hang in there it gets easier, I promise... (11 Weeks without 1 puff!) In that amount of time I have saved $488.00!
Today marks a full week! : D Seven days, twelve hours, anda twelve minutes to be exact. I'm pretty proud of myself.
Hang in there! I tell myself that people who have never smoked manage to get through stressfull situations without a ciggerette, which means I don't NEED one either. Keep up the good work.
I know your frustration but dont give in find a new vise to help you deal with the stress we know you can keep it going everytime just check out that app and the numbers going up!!
Good luck Alicia. I have been smoking for 8 years. Quit 9 years ago. Exercising helps a lot cause you to notice improvement in your endurance and start to respect your body more.
It has been exactly two weeks and none minutes since I quit smoking. Yay me! :)
