Stiffness, tightness in hip

I'm 28 and apparantly anything hip related according to google has to do with osteo which I'm pretty sure is not my problem... However my right hip is soooo stiff. I feel a tightness in the muscle and I've tried hip flexor stretches but I'm not noticing a big change. When I push my hip out to the right side I get quite a bit of pain, again what feels like a muscle thing. Has anyone experienced this? Any stretches you recommend to relieve the tightness? Thanks!

Sit cross legged on the floor. Place your ankle just above your opposite knee. Press down gently till you feel good stretch.

Do you get pain with any other motions of the hip?

I can feel it when walking, climbing stairs, jumping. I obviously feel it quite a bit in my dance classes as well. It's not a sharp pain unless I try and stretch out. It's more of a achy pain-that's why I'm assuming it's a muscle pain and not like a joint paint or something.

Tbh it sounds more like something in your hip isnt sitting right. Doctor should be a good start. But most likely you need a specialist who can feel/see whats wrong at your hip and kind of force it back.

As an extra suggestion this kind of stiffnes can happen due to poor movement. Or a simple reason as 1 leg being slightly longer. If you have this for a longer period of time i think it really pays off to try and find from where this pain can come.

It's more distinct with sideways movement more than forward and back. But lately squatting has become pretty uncomfortable. I'm getting very frustrated :(

This is not so strange because while squatting you should force the hips open and the knees out. Go to a docter and try to see a specialist. Your hips are way too important to be messing arround with.
