Does anyone have a descent workout that would be good for someone post spinal surgery...c5/c6 discectomy,plating, aligraft? I'm 3 months out and can resume lower body workouts.
Start with just walking to build up your endurance. Avoid any jumping activities(jumping jacks, plyometric hops, switch lunges etc.) Sqats, lunges and 4 way hip raises should be okay, watch your form and keep your upper torso and neck relatively still. Avoid any exercises lying on your back and raising you torso up(ie crunches or curls) as your neck muscles then must hold your head against gravity.
Consult with your MD about other safe options.
