Post ACL Repair/Lateral Release Exercises
Three years ago I had a complete ACL tear with surgery and PT. With limited relief of pain I had a follow up lateral release surgery in December of 2013 on the same knee.
At this point, I'm trying to lose weight, over 40 pounds, but so many exercises involve strenuous activity that I simply can no longer perform due to pain and advanced arthritis in the knee (for which they're recommending a cartilage graft). For reference, I'm only 34 and am pretty active and was very active prior to the injury.
I cannot do squats or lunges, pounding type activity such as jogging, etc. They really don't want me bending the knee more than 40 degrees (with weight bearing).
I do use the elliptical and bike, but this gets boring!! Any suggestions on exercise within these restrictions?
