Swolllen/ hurt knees

I need some good advice for weak knees. My right knee is swollen and i tried walking but as soon as i stop walking and sit down, it starts hurting again. What kind of excersise tips/advice can you give me so i can still stay in shape?

A lot depends on the issue and cause....different knee injuries can have similar symptoms and what can treat one injury can make another worse. I'd rest it if it's a new issue, but seek medical advice if it persists. I had similar a while ago after running, I found wall sits and planks helped, but like I said without knowing the issue these could make it worse....

A few years ago i felt on ice and my knee cap switched. Doctor said i need surgery to break the knee and reconstruct it. Due to some bad experiences with surgeries, i opted out of it. Dr then advised i would have issues until i operate on it. So far it only flairs up now with the weather changes, but this time the swolleness stayed longer....
