My calves have been sore for about 6 days. At first it seemed to get better after a few days, but now especially my right calf feels so sore and swollen (it isn't actually swollen though.) what can I do, I'd like to be able to walk like normal soon lol

Also lots of water and light cardio after a work out will help get the enzymes in your body moving around and help with recocery

Thanks Nic :) Do you mean cardio right after exercise?

I used to have the same problem lately and found out that i webt hard on my calfes at the first days i thought it was sore then i found out its a cramp so you need to eat some pottasium to get rid of it

I don't know whether to do some stretches or just leave it alone :/

I would take it easy on your calves. Some light stretching is probably ok but you don't want to reinjure. I had what sounds really similar with a badly pulled calf muscle from running. After about a week it seemed better and I thought another run would stretch it out. It seemed fine while I was running but the next day the pain was so bad I couldn't even put my feet flat on the ground. It took a couple months to recover. So just go easy the first time your think your ready to try something again.

Thanks Joy. Really seems like that's what I'll have to do... Kinda bummed about that

Take some extra warm baths, that should help. :)

Ive had a similar problem in right calf almost feels like a not in the muscle on one side....

Happened after doing kickboxing and 3 hrs buke the next day...

Apart from lots of protein and water, I stretched and massaged it every night gently and didnt over do it for couple of weeks and its been good since....

If it feels sharp pain its more towards injury....if its more crampy pain its over use!

The pain isn't sharp at least :) I'll make sure to eat extra healthy now and make some homemade sports drinks for recovery. I'll try the massages too and keeping my legs elevated

Sounds like you're working that calf so hard Silje, rest it for a few days, and have sauna if you don't have a bath, it should help relax the sore muscle.  Hope it gets better soon.

Thanks :) yeah, I'll take it easy for a bit. Used a heat pack on it today, hopefully that was somewhat effective

Is it in the calf muscle or in the tendon at the bottom?

Try using a foam roller .

That just seems like it would hurt a lot? Wouldn't it?

10 minutes of discomfort vs. 6 days of soreness...you decide

I'll see if I can get one
