I started working on ab from yesterday. It kind hurts my abs. Why does this happen? Does it happen because of doing to many crunch's?

Three possible reasons:

1. Accumulation of lactic acids produced by a anaerobic respiration of your muscle cells
2. Microtrauma due to muscle overloading
3. Muscle injuries

1 and 2 are normal phenomena after execrise, you can still workout
3 may due to tearing of tendons, muscle fibers, inflammation of soft tissues, etc., you may want to see a doctor if it persist or it is unbearable
