Workout after meal?!

How long after a meal typically should someone wait before working out?

Depends on the meal and the ntensity of ur work out:-) livestrong have all sorts of factual info! And u dnt have to join...or webMd.have a healthy day!

I wait an hour or more. If im going run then two or even three (hurts and makes me sick if i run earlier after meal).

I always wondered why I got muscle cramps at the beginning of my run(10-15mins into it...) I figured not giving your body enough time to absorb was probably the reason. Could also be my breathing I've been told. Lol.

I had those cramps too and I was told it was my breathing, but now that i've started waiting longer after meals the cramps had disappeared :) hope you find your reason too soon :)

Typically an hour to hour 1/2 with a decent well rounded meal but of course that all depends on your digestion rate and type of food. In order for the nutrients to reach your muscles it takes time. My best workouts are always after a meal high in complex carbs. And dont forget to replenish with amino acids and protein :)
