How often should I increase the weights I lift if i want to increase muscle mass?

Use progressive overload.. As a weight gets easy for you to lift slowly increase the weight till your rep range is 12 max.. If it goes beyond 12 increase the weight so you will max out at anything less than 12 and more than 6..
