Workout after knee injury

I want to start working out again but after 6 weeks in a brace with crutches I'm not sure what I can do. My knee is better now and I want to slowly get back to working out. Any suggestions?

What was wrong with your knee? It is hard to suggest anything without knowing how serious the knee injury was .

It was a strained knee ligament...sorry I didn't specify that prior

Thanks for the info. I would first focus on restoring any lost movement --- a stationary or recumbent bike. Then look at stability exercises -- single leg stance on foam, pillow or couch cushion. You could also look at doing straight leg raises in all four direction(forward, back and to both sides). Work your way up to squats with your feet in a neutral position, toes in and toes out to build strength and stability in all directions, before moving on to front, back and side lunges. Good luck
