What helps more for Abs ? Core/Abs cycles like crunches, sit ups , legs up, ect... or more compound workouts like Squats and Deadlifts?

Iv been switching back and forth and trying to see witch one works best.
Thought ill get some of your thoughts about this topic :)

Well for me:spirts,jumprope,moutain cilmbers,burpees...hangin db knee rasies/standing ab wheel rollout/side v ups/russian twist. But I always,switch my,routines up.
