Resistance training for a runner.

I have been running for about a year now and have noticed I'm losing muscle. I know this is normal I have started eating foods high in protein and also using whey protein which has helped a lot. I would like some advice on training with weights.

intense cardio exercise will do the job

Thanks. I start a cardiovascular kickboxing class that is 1 hour 3 times a week. I'll see how that goes.
