Should I run 5 kg once a week or do a leg workout for 10 minutes every 2 days?

Why is it either or? The best results would probably come from doing both!

well if I do the 5 km running I get muscle sore that lasts almost a week, but if just the leg workout I only need one full day to rest

You might find that the muscle aches ease up as you do more running. Are your joints very flexible? Can you put your hands flat out the floor in a forward bend?

I would say its slightly flexible, but I can't put my hand flat just yet. And thanks for advice I just started running so maybe that is the cause of long aches. On contrary, I have done leg workouts for almost 3 months now

I asked because I'm hypermobility and the exercise aches never seem to go however long I work out. How about doing a walk/run program for a bit to build up the running gently. Or maybe run 2k twice a week for a but and see how you feel? You have to experiment with what works for you as we are all different!
