It's important to add some cardio in as well.  Fat does not turn into muscle.  They are two different things.  Situps will help build muscle, though.

Hey that was great advice.. start doing core workouts and yoga,I wouldn't worry about weights..watch the vids and exercise with a vid our two everyday..also my fitness pal app it's absolutely famous for counting calories effectively and ultra easy to use I suggest getting it, I'm doing it right now it's actually lots of fun..also dieting accounts for like80% of weight, start eating very healthy fruits vegetables all that good stuff

Doing abb exercises are not recommended for weight loss and to get Abbs you need to lower your body fat percentage. Situps don't burn noteable calories and they build muscle way under the layers of fat which doesn't help anyone I'd say stick with hiit workouts and good diet with healthy omega 3 fats and all
