I think getting abs is 90 percent cardio to loose the fat around them and 10 percent about exercises. Definitely stick to a healthy diet. I am personally not a big believer in counting calories. I believe in eating a good amount of protein, fruits and veggies and cutting the junk. Also small meals about 5 times a day should help.
Don't forget to focus on your lower back too!
